What A Day!!!!

What a day we had. Wonderful, sunny, and baseball playing day!! The boys had their first T-Ball game today. They had a blast, and did such an wonderful job. It started off as Opening Day Ceremony at Prospect. The boys team is the Dodgers.(I know how lucky were we to get onto the dodgers team, since that is Darrel's favorite MLB team) The Dodgers was the first team to be called out in introductions. The boys were so nervous we caught them holding hands.

Game time!!! The Dodgers started off at bat first. Jackson's turn and he hits the ball hard straight to the pitcher. Jackson runs to first but doesn't stop!! He just kept running. They finally got him to stop at third. Luckily he didn't get out. It was funny to watch him. Karson's first turn at bat he hit the ball and runs to first base, but stops to look at me. He got out at first, but he was all smiles. The best thing about T-Ball everyone gets to bat every inning. No score is kept, and the game is always tied.

After the game, we went to get their helmets airbrushed. Such an cool idea, I wished we had that when I was playing softball. The boys love them.

Can't wait for more games. So happy the boys enjoy themselves so much!!!

Is it just me??

Am I the only anxious mother out there? Every time I take the boys to go play at Chick-fil-a, there are always other kids in the play area that are wearing shoes. The rules state "no shoes allow, socks must be worn." Well, I follow the rules, apparently other moms do not. Yes I know it is germy in there. But that is what socks are for! I hate it when my little babies get their poor little hands stomp on. It just makes me ill. Would you like for me to put my shoes on and step on your fingers? I think not. So next time parents, please read the signs and follow the rules.

Library Time

Library time is every Tuesday at 10:30. Usually starts off with story time. And then it follows by a 1-2 hours looking and picking out books for the boys. We usually try to go for a theme for each week. This week we found a series of books called Froggy plays T-ball. Froggy goes to School , and so on. Well we ended up with about 10 froggy books. Yep!! You guessed it Karson is all about his froggy. BTW, I was informed tonight that Karson wants to be a froggy when he grows up. Debating weather or not to buy him a frog? I am scare he will let it out and it attack me. So we have our froggy books and also about 8 different air force books. Not sure why Jackson pick those out, but whatever interests him. We love library time. For one it is free entertainment for us. It is very educational for the kids too. They have to learn how to be quiet and still for story time. They love the puppet shows and puzzles working with other little kids. We also get to play games on the library computers, which is the right age for the kids!!! We average about 30 to 40 books per week. Eventually I am assuming we are going to run out of books. Below are the books we renting out today. This will last about a week. But I am so blessed that I have kids that love to read. We take time out of our days every day to read.

WALMART FACTS

One day last week someone got the best of me. There was a comment thrown out there saying people who work at Walmart are IGNORANT. Well of course that anger me since my husband is an employee of Walmart. Matter of fact my husband as been at Walmart for 11 years now. Walmart has it pro's and con's. But most people like to hype on the cons. Well I decided for all of you haters out there some FACTS about walmart. And how walmart has helped out your community. Yes I do shop at Target also. Yes, I do believe Target as more quality of things. That doesn't mean I knock Walmart. I do 90% of my grocery shopping at walmart. But here are some known facts :

  1. Walmart commites to give Chile 1 million dollars
  2. From Feb 1 2008 to Jan 2009 Walmart gave more than $423 million in cash and in-kind gifts globally.
  3. Just in Nc alone in 2009 Walmart Corporation and associates gave $9,315,708 to their community. Which means it stayed in North Carolina
  4. In 2008 Walmart donated to AMERICA food banks over 90 million pounds of food
  5. As a Walmart give back program. Walmart donated 1.1 million dollars to military families for books and gifts for the Christmas season
  6. Walmart has donated over 1 million dollars to the National center of Family Homelessness
  7. In 2009 Walmart awarded Meals on Wheels with 2.2 million dollars
  8. 1.2 million was donated to the BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF AMERICA
  9. WALMART EMPLOYEES 1.4 MILLION IN UNITED STATES ALONE. (for all of you people that complain about walmart. And we should not let Walmart be in this community. Imagine if Walmart wasn't here. There would be more than 1.4 million jobs loss. Hey Walmart should be president, seems like they are doing a better job than Obama???)

Just little bit of facts. More will come later when I have more time to vent.

Let me hold you longer

One of my favorite books is Let me hold you longer by Karen Kingsbury. It is a little short books made for mommy's and daddy's. I read every so often , especially when I feel overwhelmed. And tonight putting the boys to sleep. I had to take a step back, and remember that book. We try to put the boys down at 6:00 pm every night. Now we go into their room at 6:00 every night but we may not get out until 7:00 or 7:30. Their little minds remember everything right now. Here is a little glimpse into our nightly routine. We usually start off with writing our letters on the Aqua Doddle that is hooked on the wall. (Trust me Karson is never going to forget that one, he loves writing letters) Then we usually play music, whatever song they like off my MP3. Karson loves "I love Rock & Roll" by Brittany Spears(I know it is embarrassing that I have that song, but it is a great work out song) Jackson's favorite song is "Amazing Grace" by Chris Tomlin. Oh he has to have "Chicken Fried" by Zac Brown band. Now it is onto books. We average 2-4 books per night. Time for prayers. How the boy love to pray. We pray for everything. It goes something like this : Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the lord, my soul to keep. Angels watch us through the night, till the mornings light. We love you Karson, love you Jackson, love you Mommy, love you Daddy, love you Maw Maw's , love you Papa's, love aunts, love you uncles, love you cousins. Love you Jesus and Love you GOD. Amen. We love you doggy, duck, spider man doggy, froggy the frog and the little froggy the frog. Then it is on to who friends that are sick and then we pray for them. Night night songs are next!! (it is almost over) Karson has TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR every night. (You have to make sure you sing it S-L-O-W-L-Y or you have to repeat yourself). Jackson is HUSH LITTLE BABY or YOUR MY JACKSON. Time for kisses and hugs!!!! 10 kisses and 10 hugs from each child and too each child. And don't forget 1 to remember me by.(so that is 40 hugs and kisses we get everynight) Time to say Goodnight Sleep tight. If anyone gets up you go in time out. Darrel and I manage to walk out of the room , and Karson is coming out saying I have to potty. Karson goes potty , goes back into his room. And then we hear "Mommy" will you please sleep with my animals. Then another set of kisses and hugs. While by this time Jackson is asleep in his bed with all his kids as he calls them. And usually this is it.

But this is when I remember the book, when I get into a hurry. I have that last load of laundry to fold or dishes to wash. Or even to sit down. Pretty soon they are going to be too old to give me those 10 kisses . So even though our nighttime routine may take us a long time, I am going to cherish these moments. And always cherish that 1 to remember me by.

OOPS!!

I know Jackson will haunt me down when he gets older and after seeing this pic. But this way too cute not too share. I am also using this blog as my scrapbooking journal for them when they get older. So I have to post this.

MY SLEEPING BEAUTIES

The boys received new beds for their birthday's. They have not slept very well in the past 6 months. They kept saying that they needed big boy beds. We kept dismissing them. Thinking it was an excuse to sleep with mommy and daddy. Well we were WRONG. They have been sleeping wonderfully!! Here are some pics from tonight after we check in on them.

This is why Jackson needed a bigger bed. For him and "all his kids" as he calls them:

This is how we see Karson sleeping a lot. No wonder he wanted a bigger bed. He sleeps upside down!!

ENGAGEMENT

Ten years ago today Darrel asked me to be his wife. I was only on 18 and Darrel was 23. A lot of people thought we were too young, and some didn't think we could make it. We dated for 8 months before we got engaged. And then were married 7 months later. How I love March 11th!!!

When the kids realize I use my cellphone has a flashlight!!!

Thursday morning, dreary day. So when the days are like today, I am not always the best. The kids wake up early while I still want to sleep. But the boys are what makes me laugh on days like this too. Karson just came out of the bathroom and I asked him if he still had a dry pull up on. Karson saids YES!! I said let me see!!!! Karson please turn the light on so I can see your CLEAN pull up. He comes up to me and hands me my cell phone. "Here mommy use this like you always do to see in the dark." So it is official per Karson!! I am one of those people who use their cellphone as a flash lights!!!!

Aww!!!

My babies finally needed big boy beds. You really don't think it is a big moment until you take away the cribs. Then you have all the flash backs coming back. I remember when we laid them down in their cribs for the first time. We had them side by side in one crib. How Karson would knock Jackson pacy out of his mouth. The first time we had to move the mattress down one notch because they were sitting up. When we finally had to convert the crib to toddler bed because they were climbing out. Everything happens so fast but you never seem to be able to get emotional about it. Until you get rid of it. When we were taking pictures of their cribs to sale on Craigslist, it hit me. My babies were that little one time. Where did time go? Seem like we had everything to happen to us in their short little life that we never really got to enjoy them being little. I love this age, but I miss being able to hold my babies and rocking them to sleep. Or kissing their little toes. But now they are 4 years old and have twin beds each with drawers on the side of the bed. They picked out their own bedding. X-GAMES!!!!!! How they love to watch that on T.V. I pray to God to not let my babies do that when they get older.

FLIES

Beautiful weather just makes everyone happy. So today we were going to run some errands and go to the park. First trip was to the doctor to picked up some meds. Of course Karson has to use the bathroom every where we go. Then off to the library. The boys loved the library as do I. I hope they learn to love books and want to enjoy reading. So after filling up my tote bag with at least 30 books. (btw Karson is into green and frogs. I found at least 1o books called Froggy goes to school, t-ball, doctor, potty and etc.) He was so excited. So I figure for the next week it is going to be about frogs, frogs and more frogs. After we put on a little puppet show, and played on the library computer. Finally time to checked out. After carrying around that heavy tote bag with all those books, the lady tells me I owed them $25.00 in late fees. How do I accumulate $25.00 in late fees. We must be in a bad economy when the library jacks up their prices. Apparently, when Jackson was in the hospital their books were just a WEEK late. For some reason returning the books back on time wasn't on my mind. I was more concern about my child. I know shame on me. I will call the branch manager tomorrow to see if they can help me out. I really hate to spend $25.00 for a week late of books. The boys were really upset they couldn't get their books today. Maybe tomorrow!! Time for food for the boys from McDonald's. I handed the lady at the window a business card that said "come and visit me at Lee Park Baptist Church" I got the weirdest eyes. I tried, maybe I will see her there. Then off to Chick Fila for my free meal. Even though I had to drive through Monroe lunch traffic to get it. Then off to a play date with friends. The park was great today, we even got some sun. It is nice to be able to go out and not worry about a jacket. Even though my son thought it was a great idea to bring home a pocketful of acorns.

We finally figure out how to keep the boys entertained for almost a good hour. Since we had such a pretty weekend, we open some windows and left the door open. We were going in and out so of course flies came in and took hostage over our house. We bought some fly swatters. The boys decided to have fun. Never heard so much giggle from them trying to kill these flies.

Karson's funny moment

Last night as I was getting the boys ready for bed, I asked Karson if he would please start turning the lights off.  Karson's response was "Mommy, God made light.  Light stays on"  As you would imagine it, the lights stayed on, because God made lights.

This is how Karson woke me up at 6:00 am in the morning.  He loves his Awana vest so much, he had to dress himself.  Of course you have to have the bandanna to go along with it.

Daddy's proud moment

Jackson made Darrel's day.  As we were riding to the doctor office, I was speaking of Duke's Grill.  Jackson overheard our conversation and immediatly heard "DUKE".  All of sudden Jackson speaks to me in a very stern voice and saids " DUKE IS A BAD WORD, YOU DO NOT SAY DUKE"

Darrel's face?  PRICELESS AND PROUD

4 Year Old Check Up

We finally made it to the pediatrician for the boys 4 year old check ups. We are always excited going to these appointments. The boys go to Matthews Children's Clinic. We see Dr. Parrish. It is about a 45 minute drive to go there. But they are really good with the boys. Unfortunately, they know us by heart.

                                                                            KARSON

Karson was 43 inches tall and weight in at 45.8 pounds. He is in the 97th percintile for his age. Overall Karson is doing really well. The best part about today, NO SHOTS!!!!!

                                                                     JACKSON
Jackson finally hit the 40 inch marked!! Woo Hoo legally he can be in a booster seat now. Still a difference in weight, with Jackson weighing in at 34.6 pounds. Jackson was in the 25th percentile last year and this year he jumped to 50th. May have a small hernia but we are going to hold off to next year to see if it will go away on his own.
